Again, in the grand tradition ofWilliam Topaz McGonagall, another early attempt at what I thought was poetry.
Geek! They shout
Oh my what a nerd!
And then they start wonderin'
Hasn’t he heard?
Books are dead!
We don’t read them no more
For it’s from movies and TV
That we get our lore
How can you sit there
Reading such crap?
I’d rather stare at a wall
Or go take a nap
Urchins! I reply
You never will know
The rapture, the pleasure
The joy of the flow
It’s images, not words
I see in my mind
As I learn of new places
And treasure to find
So now you must leave me
Go run down the way
For now I am reading
And here I will stay
